Haiku
Does anybody know what a Haiku is? Where are Haiku from originally? How are they structured?
( Traditionally a Haiku is a short poem describing a snapshot of the natural world and containing some reference to the season. They are from Japan, and have three lines. The first has five syllables, the second seven and the third five.) There are some examples:
underneath the bridge
a Christmas tree abandoned,
in cold grey darkness
a strand of cobweb
drifting on the summer breeze
catches the sunlight
In pairs , write two traditional Haiku for all seasons. When you finish , leave them on the table, then go around the classroom and read everybody else's.

WebQuest
A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson in which most or all the information that students work with comes from the web. It is kind of instruction which a teacher prepares for students. Since the beginning days of the WebQuest idea in 1995, when the model was develpoed by Bernie Dodge, lots of teachers have embraced WebQuests as a way to make good use of the internet by engaging their students in the kinds of thinking that the 21st century requires.
Technologically, creating a WebQuest is very simple. As long as you can create a document with hyperlinks, you can create a WebQuest. That means that a WebQuest can be created in Word, Powerpoint, and other programs.
